『総曲輪のバーとラウンジ』が FRAME Awards 2025 Bar Category Shortlist に選出

このたび、私たちが設計を担当しました 『総曲輪のバーとラウンジ』 が、
国際的なデザイン賞 FRAME AWARDS 2025 の Bar Category（バー部門） Shortlist（ショートリスト） に選出されました。

FRAME AWARDS（フレーム・アワード） は、世界的に権威のある空間デザイン誌『FRAME』が主催する国際的なアワードプログラムです。インテリアデザインやプロダクトデザインの分野において、創造性・機能性・革新性・持続可能性に優れた功績を評価・表彰します。

世界中から集まる多様なプロジェクトの中から、カテゴリーごとに審査員によって評価され、上位5作品が Shortlist として選出されます。最優秀賞は、2025年11月5日、アムステルダムで開催される Workspace Design Show 内の授賞式典および祝賀会にて発表されます。

FRAME Awards の過去のショートリストにおいて、北陸三県（富山・石川・福井）所在のプロジェクトとしては初の選出であり、
さらに北陸を拠点とする設計事務所としても本作が初のショートリスト入りとなります（当社調べ）。

今回の選出は、富山で設計された空間としても大変意義のある結果であり、
世界的なアワードにおいて、地域発のデザインが評価されたことを大変嬉しく思います。

今後も、私たちらしい視点でプロジェクトごとの課題に丁寧にアプローチしてまいります。

審査の過程では、審査員の方々から貴重なコメントもいただきました。
どの言葉も私たちにとってありがたく、今後の糧となるものでした。

We are pleased to announce that our project, “Bar and Lounge in Sogawa,”designed by ONIZUKA-SEKKEIBU,
has been selected for the Shortlist in the Bar Category of the FRAME AWARDS 2025.

The FRAME AWARDS is a globally recognized award program organized by FRAME, one of the world’s leading magazines dedicated to spatial design.It honors outstanding achievements in interior and product design that demonstrate excellence in creativity, functionality, innovation, and sustainability.

From a wide range of projects submitted from around the world, five works in each category are shortlisted by an international jury.
The winners will be announced at the award ceremony and celebration, which will take place on November 5, 2025, during the Workspace Design Show in Amsterdam.

In the history of the FRAME Awards shortlist, this project marks the first selection of a work located in the Hokuriku region (Toyama, Ishikawa, and Fukui),
and also the first shortlist entry by an architectural studio based in Hokuriku (according to our research).

This recognition holds great significance for us, as it is a project designed in Toyama.
We are truly honored that a design emerging from a regional context has been recognized in a global award.

We will continue to approach each project with care, addressing its unique challenges through our own perspective.

During the judging process, we also received valuable comments from the jury members.

The rhythm of the vertical striping in the interior details is a standout—it cleverly echoes the space’s origin as a shipping container. And let’s be honest, everyone looks good in stripes. There’s a strong use of recycled and repurposed materials, and the structure nestles nicely into its setting, clearly conveying its function and the activity that takes place there. I bet the food is tasty, and while the industrial quality is present, it’s balanced by the thoughtful organizational layout.

内装に施された縦ストライプのリズムがとても印象的で、もともと輸送用コンテナだった空間の成り立ちを巧みに表現しています。ストライプは誰にとっても心地よく映るものですしね。リサイクル素材や再利用素材を積極的に活用しながら、周囲の環境に自然に溶け込み、空間の機能やそこでの営みがしっかりと伝わってきます。インダストリアルな質感を持ちながらも、整理されたレイアウトによって全体が心地よくまとめられていて、思わず「きっと料理も美味しいに違いない」と想像してしまいました。

Surprising amount of details and innovation in such a small space that seem to hit the brief and the requirements of the typology boldly.

小さな空間でありながら驚くほど多くのディテールと工夫が盛り込まれており、この用途に必要な条件を力強く満たしています。

The materials chosen for the space and the color of the floor neutralize the originally rather cold metallic feel. The tiny space, through reasonable division, instead appears to be full of layers.

素材の選び方や床の色によって、もともとの冷たい印象だった金属的な質感が和らいでいます。限られた空間も工夫された分割によって、むしろ奥行きのある豊かな空間に感じられます。

During the COVID-19 period, many small shops and tenants were forced to close, so the idea of rethinking the space to take advantage of that situation felt really creative.

コロナ禍で多くの小規模店舗やテナントが閉店を余儀なくされた時期に、その状況を逆手に取り、新しい空間のあり方を考え直した発想がとても創造的だと感じました。
